Voted
as one of the New Seven Natural World Wonder in 2011, Halong Bay –
where thousands of sculpted limestone islands rise from the waves like
dragons’ teeth – becomes the must see destination of traveller’
lifetime. Located in the Gulf of Tonkin, Halong Bay is famous for its
3,000 islands and islets, forming a spectacular seascape of limestone
pillars. With its precipitous nature, most of the islands are
uninhabited and unaffected by a human presence. The site’s outstanding
scenic beauty is complemented by its great biological interest.
